Shanghai — The all-new Buick GL8 from Shanghai GM is now available. The luxury MPV builds on the heritage of the original GL8, China's first family of executive wagons. Since the model's debut in 1999, more than 330,000 have been sold across China.

The new model, which will reach the market in January 2011, features seven innovations and 27 technological breakthroughs along with improvements in design, space and safety, technology, power, features and quality. The result is an unprecedented luxury MPV experience that is unmistakably Buick.

Shanghai GM Introduces Chevrolet New Sail Small Car

Shanghai — Shanghai GM today introduced the Chevrolet New Sail sedan, the first passenger car created in China by a Sino-foreign joint venture. The new small car was developed by Shanghai GM and the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), both GM-SAIC joint ventures. In addition to being sold in China, the New Sail will also be exported to other emerging markets.

Shanghai GM offers five variants of the New Sail with the base model priced from RMB 56,800 (US$8,400) to RMB 68,800 (US$10,100). This marks a breakthrough in the under-RMB 70,000 (US$10,300) small car segment, where Chinese brands have traditionally been dominant. (more…)

Shanghai — Shanghai GM unveiled the Cadillac new SLS today. It is one of two new models — along with the Buick Excelle XT — that is making its global debut on the automaker's stand at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

The new SLS is the next generation of Cadillac's luxury business sedan that was first introduced in China in 2006. It combines the American luxury brand's traditional elegance with cutting-edge technologies and is specifically tailored for business elites. It is the first model from Shanghai GM equipped with OnStar.

The new SLS comes in four variants that are priced between RMB 448,000 and RMB 698,000. Shanghai GM began taking orders today. (more…)

Shanghai, China —  (Shanghai GM) today introduced the newest member of its Buick lineup, the LaCrosse premium sedan. Using the LaCrosse architecture from North America, the vehicle has been engineered and developed specifically for the China market. It has an all-new body, exterior and interior, and unique engine lineup.
