Paris/Rüsselsheim — The GTC Paris concept car embodies the passionate side of Opel: Its role is to show how Opel can “dial up” the brand&#x27s now established design direction by creating a very sporty and emotional interpretation.

The GTC Paris is designed to be artistically sculpted using sweeping dynamic lines. At the same time, it is engineered with German precision and energized with technical innovation, like a 2.0 liter Turbo gasoline engine with direct injection, a new execution of the fully adaptive FlexRide suspension and an limited slip differential in the front. Rüsselsheim — Opel's Vice President of Design Mark Adams gave his team the briefing: “show me the most emotional side of Opel's new design language, ‘sculptural artistry meets German precision’.” What they created, the GTC Paris concept car, will be shown for the first time at the Mondial de l'Automobile 2010 (October 2–17).

Coming close on the heels of the new generation Astra Sports Tourer, which will also debut at the Paris motor show, the GTC Paris is the next bold step of a newly shaped Opel line-up.

Inspiration for the concept was partly derived from a quote from Richard Bach's famous novel, Jonathan Livingston Seagull “… and the speed was pure beauty.” (more…)

Rüsselsheim — Opel will unveil its Flextreme GT/E concept car at the 80th Geneva Motor Show (March 4–14), that will boost the company's credentials as a leader in green technologies, offering expressive design with efficient environmental performance — and engineered with German precision.

In Opel's strategy for achieving more independence from fossil fuels, electricity plays a key role. The 4.7-meter long Flextreme GT/E concept illustrates how extended-range electric vehicle (E-REV) technology can be plugged into large or mid-size vehicles, as well as compact cars such as the upcoming Ampera.
