The Hong Guang combines an elegant exterior with a truly compact design and a small engine, changing traditional perceptions of compact business vehicles. It is targeted at those who need a business vehicle with outstanding fuel economy and functionality, but at an affordable price.

Detroit — Combining a decidedly urban-industrial design aesthetic with functionality aimed at young professionals, the GMC Granite concept takes the brand's trademark capability in a new, more progressive direction. It was introduced at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

If brought to market, the Granite would be the smallest GMC ever — but has been optimized to feel much larger. Its length is a full 2 feet (0.6 m) shorter than the new Terrain compact crossover, but its open interior was designed to be spacious and flexible to fit the needs of active people. Generous cargo space and unique flipping/folding seats, for example, enable a mountain bike to be loaded completely inside with the tailgate closed. (more…)

‘Uniquely spacious’ Kia Venga to debut at Frankfurt

Seoul — Kia Motors Corporation has confirmed that its all-new, uniquely spacious and dynamic B-segment MPV will be named ‘Venga’ when it goes on sale across Europe later this year.

Designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, the 4,068 mm long Kia Venga will feature an unusually long (2,615 mm) wheelbase for its class — and a 1600 mm high roofline to maximize cabin space. Skillful packaging will ensure that the Venga redefines its MPV category by offering levels of interior space typical of a larger C-segment vehicle, but within a B-segment footprint. (more…)
