Seoul, Korea — GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GM Daewoo) today hosted the GM Daewoo “Style, We Create” Next-Generation Vehicle Preview at its Design Center to provide media an exclusive sneak peak at its future design concepts.

The next-generation products shown are a precursor for the design direction of the automaker's future small vehicle, upper-midsize sedan and seven-seat minivan.

The next-generation global small vehicle design, which had never been shown before, represents an important vehicle for the automaker. GM Daewoo is the global development center for GM's small vehicles. (more…)

GM Daewoo Introduces New Matiz Creative Global Mini-Car

Seoul, Korea — GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GM Daewoo) today launched its all-new global mini-car, the Matiz Creative. The new mini will go on sale from September 1.

“The Matiz Creative is an all-new mini-car developed at GM Daewoo, the global vehicle development center for GM's mini and small cars,” said Michael Grimaldi, President and CEO of GM Daewoo. “With its best-in-segment design, performance and safety, the new mini is destined to become an industry benchmark and a winner among consumers in Korea and around the world.”

Based on GM's global mini-vehicle architecture, it took 27 months to develop the Matiz Creative. (more…)

GM Uzbekistan Joint Venture to Build and Sell Chevrolets

Tashkent — General Motors, the world's largest carmaker, announced today a joint venture with to assemble and distribute Chevrolet cars in Uzbekistan, the central Asian republic and part of GM Europe region. The joint venture, which will be called GM Uzbekistan, will extend Chevrolet's rapid expansion in Eastern Europe and Asia.

“Chevrolet has become the fastest growing brand in Europe, demonstrating its strong appeal especially in the opportunity markets of Eastern Europe”, said Carl-Peter Forster, President of General Motors Europe. “The start of operations in Uzbekistan and the launch of a series of new Chevrolet models will help us continue our rapid growth.” Sales of Chevrolet models in Europe have increased 32 percent year-to-date (more…)
