Hyundai Launches All-New Grandeur in Korea

The Grandeur, Hyundai's top-selling premium large sedan, returns with new safety and convenience features and sharper, more graceful styling.

Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea's largest automaker, rolled out the all-new Grandeur (badged as Azera in some markets) today at a ceremony in Seoul, attended by some 300 VIPs, including Hyundai Motor President Steve S. Yang, and media members.

The all-new Grandeur arrives in the Korean market six years after its predecessor's (code named TG) launch in May 2005. The Grandeur is unrivaled as Korea's No. 1 large sedan, with cumulative sales of 1.25 million units (domestic: 980,000, exports: 270,000) since the first generation launched in 1986. (more…)

EQUUS, Hyundai Motor Company's new flagship sedan has arrived in showrooms across Korea.

Representing the pinnacle of Hyundai engineering and design sophistication, the all-new EQUUS will serve as an effective import fighter in the Korean luxury sedan market taking on the best from Germany and Japan.

As the replacement for the first-generation EQUUS which has been retired after ten years in the marketplace, the new successor was developed under the VI project codename over a period of three years and represents a total investment of 500 billion won (approximately US$337 million*). (more…)

GM Daewoo Introduces All-New Lacetti Premiere Dynamic Compact Sedan

Jeju, Korea — GM Daewoo Auto & Technology (GM Daewoo) today rolled out its all-new dynamic global compact sedan, the Lacetti Premiere, on the scenic island of Jeju.

“The Lacetti Premiere is the first member of the next generation of segment-leading products for GM Daewoo,” said Michael Grimaldi, President and CEO of GM Daewoo. “Working together with GM's global design and engineering teams has resulted in a vehicle that is destined to be a global benchmark and a sales winner with consumers at home and abroad.”

Holden Delivering New Luxury to South Korea

GM Holden today presented its newest export program — the GM Daewoo Veritas, a long wheelbase luxury flagship tailored for the demanding South Korean market.

GM Holden is building Veritas at its vehicle assembly plant in Elizabeth, South Australia, and the Global V6 engine at its engine operations plant in Port Melbourne, Victoria.

GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Mark Reuss, today described the vehicle as a great addition to Holden's export portfolio demonstrating the company's reach and flexibility. (more…)
