Auburn Hills, MI — Dodge Caliber is a five-door C-segment hatchback that combines a sporty coupe-like profile with the strength, stance and functionality of an SUV. It features an all-new refined interior and Common-rail Diesel (CRD) engine to satisfy the needs of discerning international customers.

This all-new Euro V capable engine is paired to a six-speed manual transmission and produces 120 kW (163 PS) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft), delivering 16 percent more power, 3 percent more torque and 25 percent more towing capability (1500 kg) compared with the previous diesel engine. (more…)

Dodge Viper SRT10 Will Live On

Auburn Hills, MI — Chrysler Group LLC announced today that production will continue for the legendary Dodge Viper SRT10.

Originally slated to cease production in December 2009, the Chrysler Group Conner Avenue Assembly Plant — the exclusive home of Dodge Viper production since 1995 — will continue to build the V-10 powered sports car. Chrysler Group is no longer pursuing a sale of the Viper business assets.

Chrysler LLC Introduces All-new Pentastar V6 Engine

New York — Chrysler LLC introduced today an all-new line of V6 engines that will improve fuel efficiency across the Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge lineup by 8 percent on average compared with previous Chrysler V6 engines. This more refined and fuel-efficient V6 engine will ultimately replace seven current Chrysler V6 engines.

The new 3.6-liter V6 engine — named Pentastar — is part of the company's overall $3 billion powertrain offensive. It will first be offered in the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, unveiled today at the New York International Auto Show and at the Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. (more…)

Cairo, Egypt — Chrysler LLC and the Arab American Vehicles Company (AAV) today officially announced the manufacturing launch of the Jeep J8 multipurpose vehicle at AAV's Cairo assembly plant.

“We're pleased to recognize this important milestone and the role of both Chrysler and the Arab Organization for Industrialization,” said Hussein Mustafa Mohamed, Chairman, Arab American Vehicles Co. “The launch of the incredibly versatile Jeep J8 and the anticipated demand for its export is an economically significant event for Egypt.”
