1. All-new compact sedan model “Li Nian S1” from Guangqi Honda's own brand “Li Nian” (English brand name: Everus)

Guangqi Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., an automobile production and sales joint venture of Honda in China, today announced the all-new compact sedan model of Guangqi Honda's original automobile brand, “Li Nian” (Everus) to be known as “Li Nian S1”. (more…)

Nissan Unveils New Global Sedan at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition

Yokohama — Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled an all-new sedan model at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition. Using the famed ‘Sunny’ name in China, this new model will go on sale first in China in January 2011 and then progressively across 170 countries worldwide under different vehicle brand names.

The Nissan Sunny was first introduced in China in 2003 and was significant as the first locally built model from the new Dongfeng Nissan partnership. Acclaimed by consumers for its combination of quality, space and driving performance, the Sunny quickly help establish a foundation for the Nissan brand in the passenger vehicle market in China. GM and SAIC Motor Announce Powertrain Co-Development

Shanghai, China — General Motors Co. and SAIC Motor Corp. Ltd. (SAIC Motor) are expanding their partnership to develop a new small-displacement gasoline engine family and an advanced transmission.

The agreement, signed today in Shanghai by GM Vice Chairman of Global Product Operations Tom Stephens and SAIC President Chen Hong, represents a significant milestone that expands GM and SAIC's relationship into powertrain development. It's another key step in providing propulsion solutions to build the world's best vehicles.

“The co-development of these new engines and transmissions builds on a strong history of innovation and collaboration between GM and SAIC Motor,” Stephens said. (more…)

China Changan Automobile Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën Sign Contract for Automotive Joint Venture in China

Xu Bin, President of China South Industries Group Corporation, Changan's main shareholder, and Philippe Varin, Chairman of the PSA Peugeot Citroën Managing Board, have signed a contract to create an equally owned joint venture. The contract was signed on July 9 in Paris at a ceremony attended by Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Bernard Accoyer, President of the National Assembly of France and Gao Hucheng, Vice Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China

Pooling the expertise of two industry leaders, one Chinese and the other European, the joint venture will produce and market light commercial vehicles and passenger car line-ups in China. The partners will initially focus on introducing the Citroën DS line in China and launching a dedicated new brand for the venture. (more…)

Presented today, as a world premier on the Chinese market, to around 300 Chinese journalists and more than 700 network representatives by Jean-Marc Gales the Marque's Managing Director, the new Peugeot 408 marks a further step in the Marque's offensive on the world's foremost automobile market.

Despite being present on the Chinese market for 5 years only, the Peugeot Marque sold over 410 000 vehicles in 2009. This corresponds to a 44% sales increase compared with its 2008 performance.

Following its fine performance in the M1 segment with the success of the 307 saloon and the 307 notch-back, of which 3,522,800 have been produced worldwide (more…)
